Republicans are sick of RINOs, absolutely sick of them.
You know what a RINO is, right? Republican In Name Only. These are the people in politics who campaign as Republicans and, typically, use Republican talking points to get elected, but, then, once they’re in office, betray the conservative principles that they campaigned on.
You know who I’m talking about. Folks like Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, and, yes, Liz Cheney. And Cheney is one of our RINOs in today’s story that will make your blood boil. Jack Phillips writes,
The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved the creation of a select committee to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol incident in a vote that fell mainly along partisan lines.
Two Republicans joined all Democrats in creating the commission. They were Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), both frequent critics of former President Donald Trump.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), for months, has pushed for the creation of the commission, while House Republicans have rejected previous attempts to create such an investigative body and argued that Democrats are acting in a partisan manner.
“We cannot wait,” Pelosi said Wednesday on the floor. “We believe that Congress must in the spirit of bipartisanship and patriotism establish this commission. And it will be conducted with dignity with patriotism with respect for the American people, so that they can know the truth.”
I’m sure that Pelosi can’t wait to waste more government money and to create a media circus to distract Americans from the terrible job that she, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden have done in the last six months. They’ve just been an utter disaster.
But I do have to call “B.S.” on that last comment. It would be refreshing to hear Democrats tell the truth about this commission: it will be just like the Trump Russia collusion hoax, meaning, that it will be completely partisan, trading on lies and hysteria, and put forth for purely political purposes instead of actually trying to do the right thing.
But, at this point, that’s exactly what I expect from Democrats, so I guess that I’m not too surprised about it.
I will be surprised, though, if Cheney and Kinzinger get re-elected after this.
