As passionate Republicans, we all knew that Joe Biden would not be good for America, but his administration’s latest failure is beyond belief.
Judge Kato Crews, nominated by Biden for the U.S. District Court of Colorado, showed a shocking lack of knowledge when asked about the Brady motion during his confirmation hearing.
The Brady motion is a basic legal concept established by the Supreme Court in 1963, which requires prosecutors to disclose potentially exculpatory evidence to the defense.
When pressed by Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., Judge Crews was unable to answer the question, stating that the term was “not coming to mind.” His answer shows that he lacks even a basic understanding of the law.
This is not the first time a Biden judicial nominee has been unable to answer a constitutional question.
Earlier this year, Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren was questioned on the meaning of Articles II and V of the Constitution and failed to provide a satisfactory response.
It is alarming that these nominees, who are being considered for lifelong appointments to the federal bench, lack such basic knowledge.
It begs the question, what other important legal concepts do they not understand?
Republicans need to stand strong and continue to oppose these unqualified nominees.
We cannot allow the Biden administration to stack the courts with judges who lack even the most basic understanding of the law.
