As high school students, we may not be able to vote yet, but we are still invested in the future of our country. That’s why it’s concerning to see the declining leadership of President Joe Biden.
At 80 years old, it’s clear that age is starting to affect his ability to govern effectively. From the rising inflation to the border crisis and foreign threats, it seems like the problems are only getting worse under the Biden administration.
And with only 67% of his own party’s voters expressing their intention to back him for the nomination over his current contenders, it’s clear that there may be a desire for a change in leadership.
It’s not just about age, either. President Biden’s propensity for whispering at press conferences has become a running joke, and it’s not a good look for a world leader. We need a president who can command respect and authority on the world stage, not one who seems like they’re struggling to keep up.
As high school students, we may not have all the answers, but we can see that something needs to change. We need a leader who can unite the country and lead us out of the current crisis.
So to President Biden, we say this: it’s time to step up or step down. We need a president who can lead us into a better future, not one who seems to be stuck in the past.
