China has once again shown its true colors as an aggressive global power, attempting to play the victim and blaming the United States for its own actions.
The Chinese Communist Party-owned media outlets have been trying to downplay the recent actions of President Biden and paint the U.S. military in a negative light.
In response to the U.S. military’s decision to shoot down a Chinese surveillance balloon and an unknown “object,” the China Daily and People’s Daily published op-eds accusing President Biden of overreacting due to pressure from Republicans and low approval ratings.
These state-owned media sources are trying to deflect from China’s own wrongdoing and instead shift the blame to the U.S. for having a “hysterical” position on China.
The Global Times, a Chinese hardline publication, went so far as to call President Biden’s actions a “juvenile farce.” This is just another attempt by China to discredit the U.S. and downplay the very real threat posed by these balloons and vessels in U.S. airspace.
But the American people are not falling for China’s lies. Both Republicans and Democrats in the House have voted unanimously to condemn China for sending balloons and other vessels into U.S. airspace. Both parties have stated that it is China that is inciting conflict, not the other way around.
The era of trusting communist China is over, as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy stated in January. The creation of a new committee to pay closer attention to China demonstrates the determination of the American people to hold China accountable for its actions.
Rep. Brad Sherman, a Democrat from California, also spoke out against China’s arrogance and attempts to downplay their routine intrusion into U.S. airspace.
He stated that the recent balloon incident has woken up the American people and should serve as a wake-up call for the greater dangers posed by China.
The United States must remain vigilant in the face of China’s efforts to discredit and undermine our country. It is time for America to stand up for its sovereignty and protect its citizens from the aggressive actions of China.
President Biden must continue to take a strong stance against China and show the world that the United States will not be intimidated by their tactics.
