You may have heard about allegations that the U.S. military, under Comrades Biden and Harris, is starting to go full woke. What this means is that the military is actively trying to weed out political conservatives, rational thinkers, and patriotic Americans from their ranks and to either replace good soldiers with leftist soldiers or to indoctrinate soldiers in Critical Race Theory and Marxism.
Maybe, though, you’re one of those people who thinks that this can’t really be happening in the military and that these allegations are nonsense.
You’d be wrong.
I wish that weren’t the case, but it is, and it isn’t just observers from outside of the military who are making this accusation. A Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. military made exactly that allegation and was promptly removed from his command.
Fortunately, conservatives rose up to support him. Jack Phillips writes,
A U.S. Space Force officer’s self-published book positing that Marxist ideology and Critical Race Theory is being spread throughout the military reached the top of Amazon’s bestseller list on Sunday after it was learned that he was relieved of his command.
“Irresistible Revolution: Marxism’s Goal of Conquest & the Unmaking of the American Military” by Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier, reached the top of the retail website’s bestseller list on Sunday evening.
It came after the Space Force confirmed that Lohmeier was relieved of his command “due to a loss of trust.”
“This decision was based on public comments made by Lt. Col. Lohmeier in a recent podcast. Lt. Gen. Whiting has initiated a Command Directed Investigation on whether these comments constituted prohibited partisan political activity,” according to the Space Force’s statement, which was sent to a number of news outlets over the past weekend.
Lohmeier made the “public comments” during an interview on a podcast, “Information Operation,” where he promoted his book. He criticized the Department of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s agenda to promote the Marxist- and postmodernist-influenced Critical Race Theory within the military in recent months.
“I don’t demonize the man, but I want to make it clear to both him and every service member that if we pursue this agenda, it will divide us. It will not unify us,” Lohmeier said, asserting that Austin is promoting “diversity, inclusion, and equity,” of which he and others have argued are “rooted in Critical Race Theory, which is rooted in Marxism.”
Some people might argue that Lohmeier was in the wrong here for criticizing military policy in a public arena, and if the criticism were about another topic, then I would think that this argument would have merit.
But Critical Race Theory and Marxism aren’t just any ideologies. They are fundamentally un-American ideologies which actively fight to violate the Constitution. This means that promoting Critical Race Theory and Marxism in the military is a violation of the oath that every member of the U.S. military takes to uphold the Constitution.
Lohmeier is absolutely in the right here. It’s great that Americans are supporting him by buying his book in droves, but Americans should also hold accountable those above him in the military who punished him for doing the right thing. Those people need to be relieved of command immediately, and people who take their oaths seriously should replace them.
