Question: How many people have to die before you’re willing to admit that a politician that you don’t like told the truth?
This is a serious question. And, frankly, it shouldn’t be a hard answer. Because the answer is that no one should have to die because I’m not willing to swallow my pride.
So, what’s going on? A scientist admitted that he wouldn’t support looking into whether CoVid-19 was made in a lab in Wuhan, China, until recently because of Trump (hat tip to here for the lead). Ryan Saavedra writes,
A scientist that signed onto a letter recently backing a probe in the possibility that the coronavirus pandemic originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology admitted in an interview this week that she and other scientists did not come forward sooner to back the possibility that the pandemic originated in a lab because they did not want “to be associated with Trump.”
“At the time, it was scarier to be associated with Trump and to become a tool for racists, so people didn’t want to publicly call for an investigation into lab origins,” Chan claimed in the interview.
They didn’t want “to be associated with Trump and to become a tool for racists?” Are you kidding me? How many non-white people in third world countries will die because their economies were crashed in an effort to control a virus that they were hiding the origins of (or, at least, preventing an honest look into the origins of)?
Sounds pretty racist to me!
Think it’s not as big a deal as I’m making it? Pat attention here: looking into the source of a virus can make a difference in stopping the spread of the virus, treating the virus, and preventing future resurgences of the virus.
So, how many people died or will die because this dirt bag put his dislike of a politician ahead of the truth? When do “scientists” like this guy go on trial as accomplices to murder or, at least, manslaughter for gross neglect?
While Biden is in the White House, it probably won’t happen, but these are the kind of amoral scumbags that give legitimate scientists a bad name.
