Attention, fellow Republicans! Last week, we witnessed National Public Radio (NPR) flee Twitter after being labeled as “government-funded media.” Now, another left-wing media giant, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), has received the same treatment, and we couldn’t be happier.
In a move that would make Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham proud, Twitter has finally acknowledged CBC’s deep connection to the Canadian government. CBC, which reportedly receives over two-thirds of its funding from the government, was not too pleased with the “government-funded media” label. In response, the company halted activities on its main Twitter account.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, especially those of us who value transparency and honesty in media. The CBC’s 2021-2022 annual report exposed that it received nearly $1.4 billion (70% of its funding) from the Canadian government. It’s high time the public knows the truth about the CBC’s biased, left-wing agenda.
The hashtag #GoodbyeCBC has been trending on Twitter, with conservatives celebrating the revelation of the CBC’s true nature. Memes and reactions flooded the platform, mocking the Canadian media giant for its “impartial and independent” facade. The left-wing narrative machine can’t hide behind the veil of impartiality any longer.
Let’s continue to call out biased, government-funded media outlets and demand transparency. We must hold them accountable for the information they spread. It’s time to put an end to the liberal bias that has plagued our media landscape for far too long.
