Criticism continues to mount against President Biden following his latest remark about the Nashville school shooting. During a press conference on Tuesday, the president was asked whether he believed Christians were specifically targeted in the shooting. Biden’s response was a simple “I have no idea.”
When a reporter informed him that Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., believed that the shooting was a hate crime against Christians, Biden jokingly responded, “Well, I probably don’t then.” He then added, “No, I’m joking. I have no idea.”
Many Americans have criticized the president’s seemingly lighthearted tone surrounding the tragedy. Biden’s previous comment about eating ice cream before addressing the shooting has also drawn scrutiny, with many Americans wanting their president to show more empathy towards the victims and their families.
