Attorney General William Barr has been under nonstop attack since giving his initial testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee and that doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon.
After being slandered, insulted and interrogated in his first testimony, Barr refused to sit through the same treatment for the House Judiciary Committee.
But now that committee and the Democrats on it are threatening to hold Barr in contempt if he does not relent to another congressional grilling.
“The committee is prepared to make every realistic effort to reach an accommodation with the department,” Nadler wrote threatening Barr. “But if the department persists in its baseless refusal to comply with a validly issued subpoena, the committee will move to contempt proceedings and seek further legal recourse.”
Nadler further stated that, “Congress’s constitutional, oversight and legislative interest in investigating misconduct by the President and his associates cannot be disputed.”
Barr has yet to respond.
