One of the saddest things about Washington, D.C. during the current administration is that there seem to be so few people with courage in that town. Democrats are voting for insane things that lead to both economic and cultural suicide, and most Republicans don’t have the courage to oppose them in any way more than wimpy objections without any real opposition to the fundamentally flawed thinking in Democrat policies.
But there are a few people with courage, and we need to make sure that we support these rare people in Washington, D.C. Jack Phillips tells us of the latest statement by one of these few people of courage in D.C. Phillips writes,
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said he was informed by some members of the U.S. military that they would leave if the armed forces mandated a COVID-19 vaccine, coming after a report claimed Army headquarters told commanders to prepare for mandatory vaccinations in September.
“I’ve been contacted by members of our voluntary military who say they will quit if the COVID vaccine is mandated. I introduced HR 3860 to prohibit any mandatory requirement that a member of the Armed Forces receive a vaccination against COVID-19. It now has 24 sponsors,” Massie wrote on Twitter. He didn’t provide more details.
It’s not clear how the service members could quit or how many would try to do so.
The Republican lawmaker was referring to a report published by the Army Times over the weekend that detailed an executive order sent by the Department of the Army Headquarters that commands should be prepared to administer COVID-19 vaccines starting as early as Sept. 1. The date is contingent on when the Food and Drug Administration issues its full approval of the vaccines.
Now, whatever your opinion on the usefulness of the CoVid-19 vaccines or the importance of taking those vaccines, forcing American citizens to undergo medical “care” without their consent is coercion and is the very opposite of the freedom that our nation was founded on and is supposed to stand for.
Beyond that issue, think about how losing all of these good, faithful, loyal Americans from the U.S. military will do to the character and ability of the average member of the military. It would be a serious blow to our nations military and, therefore, would be a huge blow to our nation’s ability to be safe from foreign aggression, and that’s a scary thing.
