A recent poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates has shown that President Joe Biden may have a tough road ahead of him in the 2024 Democratic primary. The poll surveyed Democrats and found that only 2 in 10 supported Biden in 2024.
This stands in stark contrast to former President Donald Trump, who has 46 percent of Republican support for a potential 2024 run.
Michelle Obama came in second in the poll with 16 percent support, followed by Vice President Kamala Harris with 8 percent and Sen.
Bernie Sanders with 7 percent. Other potential candidates like Pete Buttigieg, Hillary Clinton, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Gavin Newsom, Beto O’Rourke, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Amy Klobuchar all had support ranging from 2 to 6 percent.
This lack of confidence in President Biden among Democrats could spell trouble for his reelection efforts. If he cannot gain more support within his own party, it will be difficult for him to win in a general election.
