Recently, a judge in Texas made a ruling that would stop the FDA from approving a certain abortion pill. Some people, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are saying that we should just ignore the ruling. But that’s not how our legal system works. We have to follow the rules, even if we don’t like them.
Now, I know a lot of you have strong opinions about abortion. Some of you might think it’s wrong, and some of you might think it’s a woman’s right to choose. And that’s okay! It’s important to have different opinions and to listen to each other.
But what’s not okay is to say that we should ignore the law. We can’t just do whatever we want, whenever we want. We have to respect the legal process, even if we don’t agree with it.
So, if you have strong feelings about abortion, I encourage you to get involved in the conversation. Talk to your friends and family, and listen to what they have to say. And if you’re old enough to vote, make sure you do your research and vote for candidates who share your values.
Remember, even though we might disagree on certain issues, we’re all Americans, and we all want what’s best for our country. Let’s work together to find common ground and to respect the rule of law.
