Hold on to your hats, folks! America First Legal has just blown the lid off a huge scandal involving the Biden administration and the raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Turns out, the Biden team wasn’t as surprised as they claimed to be when they learned about the raid on social media. In fact, they were directly involved!
According to documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, the Biden administration pulled some strings to get the FBI access to Trump’s records. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), which initially said they weren’t involved in the investigation, was actually in on the whole thing!
Now, here’s where it gets really interesting: The special access statute is supposed to allow requests for records only when they’re needed for “the conduct of current business” of the White House. But America First Legal says that handing over documents for a criminal investigation doesn’t count as “current business.” Sneaky, right?
In an August letter, NARA’s acting head, Debra Wall, hinted that President Biden himself might have been involved in the whole scheme. She wrote that Biden deferred to her decision on whether to uphold Trump’s “protective assertion of executive privilege.”
So, what does this all mean for us? It’s clear that the Biden administration isn’t playing by the rules, and they’re not afraid to bend them to target their political rivals. It’s time for us to demand transparency and accountability from our government, and let them know we’re watching!
